San Jose resists meddling in apartment sales and enlarges the rent registry.

On Tuesday, the San Jose City Council rejected the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act (COPA) and additional planned rules affecting housing providers, including a rent registry expansion.

The California Apartment Association, which had fought vehemently against the restrictions, celebrated victory with the judgment.
