The Cantera community in La Mesa is entering the market with homes priced significantly below San Diego County’s new record median price of $880,000. This new development offers more affordable options for prospective homeowners, with prices starting in the $600,000s and not exceeding $900,000. Michael Grandy of Whissel Realty Group, the listing agent for all 32 homes, highlights that this price range is a win for first-time buyers looking to enter the housing market in San Diego.

These homes, though technically classified as condos, are designed as detached residences, providing a unique and modern living experience. The development, located on High Street near the 125/94 interchange, is built on a former rock quarry, offering a distinctive setting. Kristine Alessio, Vice President of NTC Development, emphasizes the innovative approach taken to utilize previously unused land for much-needed housing. The collaboration between NTC Development and High Street 34 aims to address the demand for entry-level homes by offering these properties for sale rather than for rent.
